There are some destinations which are dangerous for a little known reason. Some places seem to trigger unique mental health conditions. Traveller beware.

For once, it’s not the French who are being rude.

Residents of Rue Crémieux in Paris are asking the city to close the street to visitors on evenings and weekends, the New York Post reports.

They’re citing an invasion of privacy: The pastel homes that line the quaint 12th arrondissement street have drawn scores of social media mavens.

Last trip to Paris I set off to find all the cutest and prettiest streets in Paris and their exact locations. I was successful and you can read the post (link in bio). Rue Cremieux is probably the most popular street on Instagram as far as ‘pretty streets’ go in Paris. Of course I had to visit. First it was FAR from where I prefer to stay in Paris and pretty far from all the main attractions and I had to drag my family all the way here just to see it and we almost missed sunset at the Eiffel Tower. While it was nice and colorful, it was, again, very far from everything! It was cute and very colorful and worth a stop one time, but I’m not sure I would go back so soon in the next trip. Plus, I went to London straight after and London has about a zillion streets that are colorful like this. On my list in bio, you will find this street (because hey it IS pretty) along with 9 other streets I love oh so much in Paris! Check it out and tell me your fave street and if you liked this one if you have visited! . . . . . . . . . . . . #ruecremieux #thisisparis #parisgram #wonderlustparis #parismonamour #paris_bigcity #traversefrance #unlimitedparis #loves_france #ongooglemaps #viewbugfeature #bbctravel #resourcemag #fodorsonthego #parisisalwaysagoodidea #iloveparis #hello_france #paris_focus_on #pariscityvision #topfrancephoto #super_france #visitlafrance #parisonline #sheisnotlost #femmetravel #france_focus_on #iamtb #dametraveler #streetscape #blondesandcookies

They strike poses with picturesque backdrops of candy-coloured facades and flowering window boxes — even performing synchronised group dance routines atop the old-fashioned cobblestones.

There are more than 31,000 photos on Instagram with the hashtag #RueCremieux — and that’s what’s goading locals.

“We sit down to eat and just outside we have people taking photos — rappers who take two hours to film a video right beneath the window, or bachelorette parties who scream for an hour,” a resident named Antoine told France Info.

What I love ?? the most about this street, is the fact it doesn’t look like a Parisian street ??! And I also love it because it’s super cute ??! It was my second time there, and I enjoyed it even more than the first time ?! In fact, it was sunny ?? that day, so another reason to make me smile ??! It was quiet so I took the time to admire each house ??! And while I was wandering there, I made myself a promise: if I ever buy a house ??, I will paint it ????? in a pastel color! I think putting colors in our lives make us happier, or at least more joyful ????! And that’s something we all need in our lives ?? ::::: Rue Crémieux is a cobblestoned and pedestrianised street in Paris. The street is bordered with colourful ?? private houses. This place gives the impression that we are outside of Paris, somewhere in a small Provincial town or in a French seaside resort ??. The 35 identical houses ?? that border the street look like English terraced cottages (hello Notting Hill). The residents are proud of their street and have ensured that it is well maintained. It was the residents’ initiative to paint ?? their fa?ades with gentle pastel colours: green ??, blue ??, purple ??, yellow ??, pink ??... and it's so photo-friendly. No wonder why this place became very popular with Instagram! But let’s face it, the street residents would surely prefer that their spot was left unknown. You know how hectic an Instagram spot can be. So I do encourage you to be discreet on your visit to rue Crémieux. ?? ::::: Thank you @nadinemerabi for this gorgeous dress! And ?? by the amazing and unique Albert the Tripod _____ #topfrancephoto #visitfrance #igparis #paris #speechlessplaces #travelguide #cntraveller #blondesandcookies #youmustsee #iamtb #parisstreet #ruecremieux #thetravelwomen #femmetravel #beautifulmatters #globelletravels #travelstyle #wanderwoman #wanderlove #travelislife #travelthroughtheworld #travelforlife #francetravel #seetheworld #travelnow #adventureseeker #travelingpost #travelphotooftheday

“Frankly, it’s exhausting.” (The France Info article is headlined, “It became hell.”)

Residents are asking for gates at either end of the street to keep the shutterbugs at bay.

A protest Instagram account has sprung up, @ClubCremieux, which has the bio “sh*t people do Rue Crémieux.”

Particularly egregious Instagrammer moves include yogis posing in quaint doorways and diehards sprawling across the ground to get the perfect shot.
